See behind the scenes!

I am excited to share the link to a bonus video I have created for you to show you how you can still make a great video without actually appearing on camera your self.  I made this in the Kodak Zi8 shot at 720p and edited it very simply with  imovie which was is installed in all Mac computers.  I hope you enjoy it.

Small Edited clip

Just cutting together a very simple montage clip, again to show you how you can post video online without actually appearing on camera yourself.

Which Camera will you choose?

Check out the latest video and make your choice.  Next phase lighting and back drop!

A tale of two cameras

So I have done some pretty extensive research into which camera is the best one for us on our 500 Dollar Film Studio journey and it basically comes down to two - the Flip Cam and the Kodak Zi8.
I love the Kodak camera because it has removable battery and media and also allows you to use an external microphone, which means the quality of the sound you record will be far superior to the majority of videos you are currently watching online.
Check out this video to see some of my research and subscribe while you are there so you don't miss out on the next phase of the 500 Dollar Film Studio development.
That's a wrap...

welcome to the 500 Dollar Film Studio Blog

So this is my first Blog entry for the 500 Dollar Film Studio.  I wanted to show you how easy it is to post a video online in your blog and here it is.
And here's the deal, I am not a technician, in fact until I started this project I, like you, had no real idea about how to create online video.  The video in this blog was created in five minutes using what most of us have available to us right now - it is that easy!
The 500 Dollar Film Studio project is all about taking action.  I am sure there are those of you who want to embrace video and are sitting back waiting for someone to give you the magic pill.
I have been working in the professional Film Industry for over twenty years and in this time I have learned a lot about the process and about story telling.  I have produced and worked on many hours of movies, television drama and television commercials and I have even spent a few years in front of the camera as an actor!
So I should know how to make "You Tube" videos, right?  Well, like I said, I am no technician, and like you I was a little nervous about putting myself out there online.  I started to do my research and was amazed at the amount of video available to view on the web.  I asked myself what makes these videos work, and realized that just like the films I had worked on over the last 20 years, the successful online videos all have a few things in common.
This motivated me to create a system that anyone can adopt to create and share their message online using the power of video.
This system is a low cost high quality system and I look forward to introducing it to you in this blog and via my You Tube channel www.500dollarfilmstudio.com
Remember it is all about taking action, so dust off your camera (if you don't have one yet I am going to share my research with you in the next video), and start experimenting!
That's a wrap for today!
